Hi,
when jdeveloper clients (pcoip) do checkout operation ,fetch data from upstream server and write to local disk , their win 8.1 client os faces with blue screen with the "unhandled thread abort exception" message.
this rarely happens on full-clone clients.
my study leads to problem on network stack and NIC driver . but why not in full clones ?
any suggestion would be highly appreciated
Thanks for reply.
Thanks for all your reply. Deleting the snap shot solves the problem.
But as I am new to this VM world, can you please tell what snapshot is and why it is created?
We have DPM (online backup software) running in our system. While browsing through google,
I found many post stating that one on of the reason for creation of multiple .vmdk file/ snapshot is
that one is having online backup software running. That may lead to cause the generation of multiple .vmdk files.
But I do not know the reason why so?
Hi,
if I have a logical switch with couple VMs that also has a HW VTEP to extend that layer 2 segment into couple physical servers, I would be able to do Micro-Segmentation on the VMs attached to that logical switch? or because that logical switch has a HW VTEP, the DFW functionality is not allowed?
Thanks.

Hi,
OK, so much for the "just update to 12" theory.
You say the webserver can be browsed on the VM itself, but don't mention if you browse via the localhost or the assigned IP address.
Is an IP address coming up as expected? (just making sure)
Also have you tried to access anything from outside of your host?
Eg. can you ping google.com?
Can you even run a name query for google.com and does it return the correct IP address?
Is it only the bridged interface that isn't working?
What happens if you switch to NAT can you access any outside resources then?
I was going to suggest to use the "restore default" option in the virtual network editor, but VMware Player does not have a virtual network editor.
Soo.. what happens if you start a cmd as admin and then run:
net stop vmnetbridge
net start vmnetbridge
Does that help?
Another thing that might have happened is that the update has removed the VMware bridged protocol, see post 177 here in this monster thread on how-to add it back:

Hi,
As far as I know, Micro-segmentation on logical switch will continue working, but cant be extended to hardware vteps.
hi,
Please find the details on interfaces in this article.
NSX – Distributed Logical Router Deep Dive – VMware Professional Services
Uplink: This is used by the DLR Control VM to connect the upstream router. In most of the documentation you will see, it is also referred to as “transit”, and this interface is the transit interface between the logical space to the physical space. The DLR supports both OSPF and BGP on its Uplink Interface, but cannot run both at the same time. OSPF can be enabled only on single Uplink Interface.
LIFs: LIFs exist on the ESXi host at the kernel level; LIFs are the Layer 3 interface that act as the default gateway for all VM’s connected to logical switches.
Management: DLR management interface can be used for different purposes. The first one is to manage the DLR control VM remote access like SSH. Another use case is for High Availability. The last one is to send out syslog information to a syslog server. The management interface is part of the routing table of the control VM; there is no separate routing table. When we configure an IP address for the management interface only devices on the same subnet as the Management subnet will be able to reach the DLR Control VM management IP, and the remote device will not be able to contact this IP.
Is there a way to figure out whether or not the bug has been solved?
Encountered the same error a week or two ago. Due to pressure of other biz I had no time to check it out.
The version at the time definitely was 12.5.5.

The keyboard hook timeout value is not set to the value

Hi,
Just curious, why cant you run VCSA instead of vCenter on windows? In labs, the VCSA performance is much better than vCenter on windows.
I recommend following labs.
Thanx for your answer. I have read that already. But that doesn't explain what's the difference technically. If I don't uses OSPF or BGP, I see no difference in the behaviour on both Interfaces. Same for edge Gateway. I'd like to know what's Happening under the hood on both Interfaces.

HI Romick,
The size of the IO blocks are not compared. Mirror Mode driver mirrors the I/O. In other words, when a virtual machine that is being Storage vMotioned writes to disk, the write will be committed to both the source and the destination disk. The write will only be acknowledged to the virtual machine when both the source and the destination have acknowledged the write.
Find more details on the process in following article by Duncan Epping.

We are using TrendMicro in vSphere environment, but the problem is, some VM's always need manual activiation when they move to another server, the new deployed VM's also have the same issue, the auto activiation policy does not always work, this is not acceptable in VDI environment.
Does anyone have this working to a usable level? Here is what I have found during my extensive testing...
O365 on Base Image
I install O365 Core (no Project or Visio) on a Windows 7 Gold Image using - setup.exe /configure /configuration.xml
I create a non-persistent floating pool - This works fine.
O365 in AppStack
I have yet to get anything working properly in an AppStack.
Hi Josh
Yes - scalpel is a linux commandline program.
It is comparable to photorec - but creating custom search routines is easier with scalpel.
My suggestion would be to create a Linux-VM booted into this LiveCD:
http://sanbarrow.com/livecds/moa64-nogui/MOA64-nogui-incl-src-111014-efi.iso
Then I would assign the 8tb drive as a physical disk.
Next I would split the 8Tb partition into several loop-devices and then run scans with scalpel against each loop-device.
I would scan for the existing password and then extract some space before and after each occurence.
I am located in germany and it is 15:00 when I post this.
Feel free to call via skype - I already accepted your invitation.

does it mstter which order i do these in?
can i take the exams first then the class last?
I sent you to your email?
I got the same issue :/
Also upgraded from 6.0 Windows to vcsa 6.5d. Re-Add the domain does not work ...
